Hire Movers Or Do It Yourself?
Moving to a new house or to a new apartment can be stressful.
Depending upon the size of your household it is sometimes not only just the physical art off carrying things around, but also the planning that is involved in getting it right.
How do you pack different things? Which groups of objects do you put together in one box? How do you wrap them up to make sure that they don’t get damaged during transport? what to put in first and what to put in last? How much packing materials will you need? How many people do you need to help you out and how long will it take them? These are just some of the questions and challenges that face you if you want to move to a new house.
When I was younger I liked to do the moving myself. I just got some friends together on the weekend and we did it in one run. After having moved all in a dozen times I now totally rely on professional moving companies.
The main reason for that is actually that I don’t like to bobble are my friends with doing this kind of work. I know they would not mind to help me, but I think that this kind of backbreaking labor is not something that anyone enjoys, and if I can just say a couple of hundred bucks to half somebody to do it for me faster and more efficiently I prefer it that way.
Too many times I have had the following experience. Friend helps me moving and carries something heavy down the stairs. Then just some small glitch happens and his finger gets squeezed in, or is backwards off the walls for weeks on. I don’t think that is something that you should do to your friends. Just to save a little bit of money.
Of course nobody likes to spend money on moving, but it’s a necessity. If you want to move to a new house just face the facts and accept it for what it is and got it done as quickly as possible. Focus on the things that are important in life and don’t hustle around too much with these issues.
I personally find that paying professional movers to do the job for me is actually cheaper because it frees up so much of my time that I can put more productive use. Just using the time that I would spend on moving myself on working, and expanding my business makes me actually more money than what I’m paying for the moving company.
And even if you’re not yet a bet in compliant I still recommend that you do it this way because you really have to learn to leverage your time, and focus on the things that help you develop your financial muscle. Being able to move surely isn’t one of them, except if you plan to open a moving company.
I really do hope that me sharing my personal experiences with you somehow relates to you, and that it will help you to make the best choices for your moving needs.
